1. Enjoy delicious food.

2. Visit Bird Island (and see that famous mailbox).

Are you standing on Sunset Beach? Just grab some extra sunscreen, water, snacks, and start walking west. 

In about one mile you will reach Bird Island, a lovely, protected stretch of beach where you are likely to spot sand dollars, sea turtles and Sunset Beach's famous Kindred Spirit Mailbox. Once there, sit on the bench, write a note or story for the mailbox, and count yourself part of Bird Island history. 

3. Rent a kayak or paddle board.

One of the best ways to explore a barrier island like Sunset Beach is by kayak or Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP). 

There are so many fun nooks and crannies in and around our marshes and canals. It's relaxing, fun for kids, and you never know what you will find.

4. Go golfing (or hey ... mini-golf is fun!).
