Sunset Beach Park
206 Sunset Blvd N, Sunset Beach, NC 28468
Situated on the Intracoastal Waterway, the Sunset Beach park is the perfect place to watch boats float by or visit the Veteran’s Memorial. Ideal for a walk with your (leashed) dog, there is even a pet fountain near the restrooms! Dotted with beautiful oak trees, this park is known for its porch-type swings along the shoreline. The park often hosts events like concerts and the Summer Market (Thursdays from May to October).
Amenities include restrooms, fishing piers, kayak launch, walking trails, benches.

Just opened in spring of 2016, this little park features a playground, ampitheater, walking trails and community garden. The playground is fenced so it’s perfect for little ones.

Carl Bazemore Bird Walk
If you are hoping for an alligator sighting, try the Carl Bazemore Bird Walk! Visitors report seeing not only alligators but also turtles, little lizards and of course, an assortment of birds. There is no playground here but there is a safe path for walking or running.

Ocean Isle Beach Park & Playground
6483 Old Georgetown Rd, Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469
Ocean Isle Beach Park features tennis courts, two playgrounds, and a restroom facility. Visitors report that this is a great place to make new little friends, and everyone is very excited that the park is receiving a huge upgrade in the form of more facilities and even a dog park (hopefully to be completed summer 2019).

The Swamp Park
5550 Watts Road, Ocean Isle Beach NC, 28469
According to their website, “This ain’t your neighborhood jungle gym”. This is an Aerial Adventure Park with ziplines, and they even have guided swamp buggy tours. This is certainly more of an excursion (and expense) than the other parks on our list, but we wanted to list it as a great outdoor option for the family.
