Fun Beach Crafts Help Days Go Fast!

Fun Beach Crafts Help Days Go Fast!

Bring the beach home with easy, fun crafts anyone can do.

Stick this blog in your back pocket when you are looking to pass time with your little ones. They will love working with simple materials, working on their fine motor skills, and spending time with you. If you can't physically be at Sunset Beach, this is the next best thing.

Cupcake Liner Fishies | Sunset Vacations

Cupcake Liner Fishies

This adorable project can probably be completed with items you have already. Squish down some colorful cupcake liners, glue (or draw) on some eyes, and embellish your art with bubbles and more!

Supplies:

  • Blue sheet of cardstock paper
  • cupcake liners
  • paper triangles for the tail fins
  • glue stick
  • wiggly eyes
  • black marker
  • blue crayon
  • For the bubbles: Either white paint and a paper straw -OR- blue sequins -OR- white binder reinforcement labels

Paper Plate Jellyfish | Sunset Vacations

Paper Plate Jellyfish

Colorful and easy to make! Just punch some holes into a paper plate, then weave yarn into the holes. It would also be fun to use lots of colors on one jellyfish. You could punch one more hole in the top and hang them from the ceiling in your beach-loving kids' room.

Supplies:

  • paper plates
  • tissue paper
  • scissors
  • glue
  • hole punch
  • yarn
  • googly eyes
  • black marker

Marbled Seashell Art | Sunset Vacations

Marbled Seashell Art

Dig out your old shells from Sunset Beach (white, non-shiny shells tend to work best) and get dipping! This addictive project yields beautiful results. If you don't have any shells on hand, you can try this same process on other surfaces, like plain paper

Supplies:

  • light colored shells (clean and dry)
  • food coloring
  • shaving cream
  • craft trays
  • bamboo skewers
  • paper towels

Mermaid Painted Rocks | Sunset Vacations

Mermaid Rocks

Finding large, smooth rocks might be the hardest part of this project, and hey, it's not that hard (if you can't find any, craft stores have rocks). Then, get painting! The author of this blog suggests practicing your mermaid scales on paper first.

Supplies:

  • river rocks
  • acrylic paint in shades of blues and turquoise
  • small paintbrushes
  • fine tipped paint pens or metallic sharpies
  • Mod Podge

Make it a beach day!

In addition to these crafts, you can really make it a "day at the beach" by watching a beach-themed movie, listening to a fun beach day playlist, or planning your next Sunset Beach vacation, whenever that might be.

It's never too early to start saving your favorite homes on our website, ordering items that will make your trip easier, and planning great things to do once you get here. Read this blog, The Only Blog You Need to Plan the Best Beach Vacation to get started.
